Smart mouth

You heard it here first

Just In

The holidays are past, but not the cookie temptations. Girl Scouts in Greater Cincinnati begin taking cookie orders Friday for delivery in late February. Ohio Girl Scouts offer one new cookie this year - Pinatas - in addition to traditional favorites. Kentucky scouts are selling two new flavors - Lemon Coolers and Double Dutch. All cookies are $2.50 per box. Information: www.lvgsc.org; (859) 342-6263 (Kentucky) and www.grgsc.org.; (513) 489-1025 (Ohio).

What Is This?

Dried rice sticks or rice stick noodles come in many shapes and sizes and are used in Asian soups, salads and spring rolls. Soften rice noodles in hot water - a few minutes to 30 minutes - before cooking. Then stir-fry or boil briefly (break noodles into shorter pieces before stir-frying).

Tube Food

From trendy diets to restaurants designed to look like the food they serve, host Bobby Rivers counts down Top 5 Food Fads on the Food Network, 9 p.m. Thursday.

Hot Date

Reflect on the past year while sipping four reds and four whites at a tasting called "Best-Selling Wines of 2003," 6-8 p.m. Jan. 16 at the Wine Merchant in Hyde Park. $15. Reservations: 731-1515.

Cool Stuff on the George Foreman Grill

After cooking, allow the grill to cool completely before placing a wet paper towel on the grill and shutting the lid. Let the grill sit for about 30 minutes and the surface should clean easily.
