Late 3-pointer lifts Kentucky Wesleyan over NKU

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Eric Freeman's 3-pointer with 9.4 seconds remaining gave Kentucky Wesleyan a 67-66 win over Northern Kentucky Thursday night in Regents Hall.
NKU took a 66-64 lead with 20 seconds remaining when Jared Ronai made a pair of free throws.
But Freeman answered for Kentucky Wesleyan by sinking a 23-footer to give the Panthers the 67-66 advantage.
NKU had a chance to win, but Mike Kelsey was called for traveling and his basket was waved off with 0.8 seconds left.
Dontae Truitt led Kentucky Wesleyan (6-4 overall, 3-3 Great Lakes Valley Conference) with 27 points.
Jesse Rupe led NKU (10-6 overall, 3-3 GLVC) with 19 points.
Thomas More 100, Berea 72
Marcus Johnson scored 19 points and Chad Wachs added 18 as the Saints (4-8) snapped a three-game losing streak before a home crowd.
Thomas More's R.K. Thurman had a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Charles Marshall led Berea (2-12) with 16 points.

NKU 87, Ky. Wesleyan 46
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Connie Myers scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Northern Kentucky University women's basketball team defeated Kentucky Wesleyan in Regents Hall.
Nikki Perkins added 20 points and had three assists.
Karyn Creager scored 13 points.
