MAC honors MU's Merrill, Mason; GLVC taps Myers

Miami RedHawks junior guard Chet Mason was tabbed Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week after back-to-back double-doubles to spearhead the Miami men's team to its first two MAC victories.
Mason pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds and handed out six assists, while scoring 11 points in 37 minutes against Buffalo.
He scored a season-high 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds against Akron.
MIAMI WOMEN: Sophomore guard Cindi Merrill earned MAC East Division Player of the Week honors after leading Miami to a 2-0 league start with wins over Buffalo and Akron. Merrill averaged 23.5 points in the two victories.
NKU WOMEN: Connie Myers has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week. Myers, a 5-foot-10 junior forward, averaged 20.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game to lead NKU to a pair of wins last week. Myers started with a 19-point, 11-rebound performance during an 87-46 victory against Kentucky Wesleyan.
She had 22 points and 10 rebounds to key NKU's 83-74 victory over Southern Indiana.
