Dayton runs away from Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. - Ramod Marshall scored six of his 18 points during a 14-2 Dayton spurt in the second half Wednesday night as the Flyers held off Richmond 55-50.

Dayton (13-3, 3-0 Atlantic 10) took a 50-44 lead with 5:05 remaining after the burst. The Spiders closed within a basket late in the game but never pulled even again.

The Spiders (8-8, 1-3) used a 16-7 run to start the half to turn a three-point deficit into a 42-36 lead with 11:15 remaining. Richmond then missed its next six field goal attempts until Reggie Brown's layup ended a span of seven minutes without a field goal.

Transylvania 82, Mount St. Joseph 78, OT

Transylvania placed five players in double figures in an overtime victory.

The Mount fought back from a nine-point halftime deficit, shooting 56 percent in the second half to catch Transylvania and force the overtime.

Tom Luther had 24 points and eight rebounds for the Mount, while E.J. Engelkamp added 15 and Robbie Noschang 10.

The Mount drops to .500 at 7-7.

Women

Transylvania 58, Mount St. Joseph 57

Virginia Grace led the Mount with 16 points, 12 rebounds and four assists, but the Lions couldn't dig out of a six-point halftime deficit.

Emily Day and Nekeala Richardson added 10 points each for the Mount, which fell to 5-7.
