Parker remains very cool to baby's father

Mary-Louise Parker continues to amaze.

The incandescent actress gave birth to a boy at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York Jan. 7, and she has named him William, presumably, after his father, actor Billy Crudup.

This, even though Crudup left Parker when she was in the eighth month of her pregnancy - and that they'd lived together for eight years.

In Touch magazine claims that Parker banned Crudup from her hospital room. But the class act allowed him to see his son in her new house in the West Village.

The magazine also claims that Parker, nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in HBO's Angels in America, was so distraught by Crudup's abandonment that she lost weight in her third trimester.
