April 20, 1972: Born Tara Leigh Patrick in White Oak to singer Patricia Patrick and guitarist and construction worker Harry Patrick.

1977: Begins dancing competitively, going on to win more than 100 trophies for tap and ballet.

1982-1987: Attends School for Creative and Performing Arts.

1987-1988: Attends Forest Park High School.

1988-1990: Attends and graduates from Princeton High School.

1990: Moves to Los Angeles and gets discovered by Prince, who inspires her to change her name.

1992: Tours with Prince.

1993: Releases self-titled album .

May 1996: Appears in Playboy.

February 1997: Replaces Jenny McCarthy as host of MTV's Singled Out.

Summer 1997: Plays a spy in Good Burger.

September 1997: Joins Baywatch as Lani McKensie after Pamela Anderson's departure.

October 1997: MTV cancels Singled Out.

November 1997: Plays herself on NBC sitcom Just Shoot Me.

August 1998: Sister, Debbie, dies of heart attack; mother dies of brain cancer.

Sept. 14, 1998: Appears in People's 10 Worst Dressed list.

Nov. 14, 1998: Marries Chicago Bulls basketball player Dennis Rodman in Las Vegas.

January 1999: Joins cast of WB's Hyperion Bay as Sarah Hicks.

May 1999: The WB cancels Hyperion Bay.

October 1999: Stars in The Mating Habits of the Earthbound Humans.

March 1999: Separates from Rodman.

April 1999: Files for divorce from Rodman.

Nov. 5, 1999: Is charged with battery along with Rodman after getting into a fight at a hotel; charges soon dropped.

June 2000: Appears as Drew Decker in Scary Movie.

December 2000: Appears again in Playboy.

February 2001: Profiled on an E! True Hollywood Story.

Aug. 14, 2001: Becomes engaged to musician Dave Navarro.

May 2002: Plays herself on The Simpsons episode "The Frying Game."

February 2003: Appears in Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding TV movie.

July 2003: Becomes celebrity judge for the revival of Merv Griffin's Dance Fever, along with choreographer Jamie King and MC Hammer.

August 2003: Appears in Uptown Girls.

August 2003: Appears as Tina in My Boss's Daughter.

October 2003: Releases Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease DVD.

Nov. 22, 2003: Marries Navarro at the St. Regis Hotel in Los Angeles.

Jan. 21, 2004: 'Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen & Dave premieres on MTV.
