Debbie Merrill had a double-double and scored all 13 of her points in the second half as Cincinnati held off Saint Louis 66-62 in a Conference USA game Sunday at Fifth Third Arena.
The Bearcats snapped a three-game losing streak, climbing to 10-8, 1-3 in C-USA. The Billikens dropped their ninth in a row and fell to 6-11, 0-4.
Merrill's 26th career double-double consisted of 12 rebounds with her 13 points. She also had three assists, three blocks and two steals. Karen Twehues scored a career-high 21 points with five three-pointers and Micah Harvey scored 15 points.
"A lot was on Debbie's and Micah's shoulders," UC coach Laurie Pirtle said. "Karen kept us in it with a good first half. It was different people at different times."

For the first time in four games, three Xavier players scored in double figures.
