BLUE ASH - Several athletes and coaches will be inducted Saturday into Sycamore High School's Hall of Fame during a program that begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Gregory Center, 601 E. Pete Rose Way. They are:
R.G. "Skip" Smith, who participated in football, basketball, baseball and track and field in the late 1950s and 1960.
Steve Garrett, who earned sectional and district championships and a fourth-place finish in the state wrestling and played football four years.
Kerry Bennett, who participated four years in varsity water polo and swimming.
Darcy Isaac, who was the Cincinnati Enquirer & Post Southwest Ohio Girls' Golfer of the Year and the Southwest Ohio Regional Invitational champion for 1993 and 1994.
Kim Perszyk, who played volleyball and softball. She was 1998 Division I Player of the Year in softball.
Frederick Cooper, who coached girls' swimming for 22 years, winning seven sectional and district titles.

Warren career center holds open house
LEBANON - The Warren County Career Center will host its annual open house and spaghetti dinner 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the center, 3525 N. Ohio 48.
Dinner will be served 5-7 p.m. Cost is $3.50 but free to sophomores from Lebanon, Franklin, Kings, Little Miami, Waynesville and Springboro schools.
An orientation will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Lecture Room 518.
Bob Sheehan, representing the Miami Valley Tech Prep Consortium, will answer questions about Tech Prep and early college options for students.
Princeton students take on Shakespeare
SHARONVILLE - Princeton Junior High School will present its version of William Shakespeare's A Midwinter's Tale at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in Matthews Auditorium at the high school, 11080 Chester Road.

Program addresses student achievement
DELHI TWP. - "How to Create a Culture of Character: Improving Student Achievement and Behavior,'' is the topic of a half-day program that will be presented 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
Sponsored by the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Character Council, the program will be held at Rapid Run Middle School, 6345 Rapid Run Road.
The guest speaker, E. C. Gaffney, Jr., will focus on learning, available resources for educators, power of praising good character and how it correlates with achievement and behavior.

Substitute teacher pay raised by $10
HAMILTON - Pay for substitute teachers in the Hamilton Schools is on the rise. The school board recently approved a $10 increase, bringing pay to $85 per day.
Those who work a half-day will earn $42.50, a $5 increase.
