Warren Co. paper firm burns

FRANKLIN - Area fire departments battled a blaze at the Cheney Pulp & Paper Co. on Anderson Road late Thursday.

Fire units responded the paper company about 10:40 p.m. for a report of a structure fire, a Warren County emergency services dispatcher said.

At least 15 fire apparatus were on scene fighting the fire, the dispatcher said.

According to its Web site, Cheney has been in business at the Anderson Road site since the 1920s. It is privately owned and produces cotton rag pulp and some speciality pulp fibers.
