Norse women upset by Rangers 57-45
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Wisconsin-Parkside's women's basketball team stunned Northern Kentucky University 57-45 at Regents Hall Thursday night.
The Rangers (9-6, 6-3 Great Lakes Valley Conference) held the Norse, who are ranked No. 22 in the NCAA Division II poll, to just 13 points in the second half and only five over the final 13:26.
The 45 points were the fewest for the Norse (11-5, 6-4) since the 1978-79 season, when they beat Cincinnati 44-43. NKU, which led 32-27 at halftime, shot just 18.5 percent (5-for-27) in the second half and finished at 31.4 percent for the game.
Men: NKU 72, Wis.-Parkside 67
Sean Rowland made four free throws in the final 27 seconds to clinch the win for the Norse (12-8, 5-5 GLVC). Mike Kelsey scored 24 points and became the 23rd member of NKU's 1,000-point club.
