Women: Xavier's late rally enough to beat UMass

AMHERST, Mass. - Xavier erased a 14-point deficit in the final eight minutes to defeat Massachusetts 53-43 Friday night in an Atlantic 10 game.
Xavier (11-7, 3-4) trailed by eight at halftime and saw the deficit grow to 40-26 with 8:17 left to play.
Fueled by six points from Aida Sarajlija, the Musketeers used an 18-0 run to take a 44-40 lead with 4:09 left.
Freshman Chelsea Chowning scored a career-high 15 points to lead Xavier. Nikki Wells added eight points to go with six rebounds.
Sarajlija finished with nine points. Adeola Olanrewaju grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds to go with four points.
Miranda Green finished with eight points, five rebounds and five assists for Xavier.
Tamara Tatham had 11 points to lead UMass (5-13, 1-6).
No. 25 Houston 60, Cincinnati 56
HOUSTON - Chandi Jones scored 23 points and made a key steal to help Houston rally past Cincinnati.
With the Lady Cougars trailing 56-55, Jones stole the ball and handed it to Sancho Lyttle, who hit a layup to give Houston the lead with 41 seconds left.
Karen Twehues led the Bearcats with 20 points and seven rebounds.
