Local hockey update
Our weekly look at Cincinnati's minor-league hockey teams.
Last week: Lost 3-2 to Toledo at home Friday; lost to Atlantic City Saturday (7-3) and Sunday (4-1) at home.
Where they stand: 18-22-2, tied for seventh in the nine-team Northern Division of the ECHL's Eastern Conference.
Who's next: The Clones host the Reading Royals at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at U.S. Bank Arena.
Who's hot: Tom Rouleau and Jade Galbraith each had a pair of goals last weekend. Rouleau's line (with Richard Naumann and Mark Concannon) combined for nine points.
Nuts & bolts: Defenseman Nick Cammarata made his Cyclones debut Saturday night and scored in the third period on a power play.
Tickets/promotions: Group tickets and partial season plans are available from the U.S. Bank Arena ticket office: 421-3222. Upcoming promotions include NASCAR night Feb. 18 against the Idaho Steelheads. ... NASCAR Winston Cup Champion Matt Kenseth will be a guest of the Clones as they host a Western Conference foe for the first time. On March 20, Bengals quarterback Jon Kitna will speak on Cyclones Faith Night.
Cincinnati Mighty Ducks
Last week: Beat San Antonio (3-2); tied Hamilton (2-2); lost Hamilton (3-2) and lost at Cleveland (3-2).
Where they stand: 17-19-7-1, tied for fourth with Houston in seven-team AHL West Division.
Who's next: At Houston (15-19-9-3), 8 p.m. today; Chicago at home, 7:35 p.m. Saturday.
Who's hot: LW Casey Hankinson has a season-high seven-game point streak (four goals, five assists) with a plus-9 rating in that stretch. ... C Keith Aucoin has nine points (four goals, five assists) in his last nine games. ... RW Pierre Parenteau has a four-game point streak (3-4-7), including goals in each of his last three games.
Nuts & bolts: The Ducks have scored 35 goals in their last 11 games. ... Defensemen have combined to record seven goals and 21 assists over the last 12 games after producing just two goals and 14 assists in the previous 16 games.
