Pretzels make fine sandwich

Gotta Try It

Servatii Pastry Shop offers a way for you to have your pretzel and deli sandwich, too - in your mouth, at the same time.

Servatii's Original Deli-Stuffed Pretzel comes layered with a choice of turkey, roast beef, ham, cheese and more. But the dark-brown, glossy bread outside looks and tastes like a soft pretzel - sprinkled with sesame seed instead of salt, with that malty, sweet, unmistakably pretzel flavor.

For parties, the three-pound, 17-by-16-inch stuffed pretzel ($34.85), which serves about 16 hungry folks, makes an interesting alternative to the same old sub. The giant pretzel is available unstuffed ($11.95). And if you're not sure you're ready to take on a pretzel sandwich this big, Servatii delis will make a normal-size pretzel sandwich for 50 cents extra.

Although the Deli-Stuffed Pretzels are at all 10 Greater Cincinnati locations, only four are open Sunday: Hyde Park (3774 Paxton Ave.); Western Hills (2045 Anderson Ferry Road); Anderson Township (7161 Beechmont Ave. and 8315 Beechmont Ave.)

To play it safe, Servatii recommends ordering the large Deli-Stuffed Pretzels two days ahead.
