Put on your boots, bundle up and take a romp through snow-covered fields at some of the area's parks.
Among the best bets:
Walk on the gently rolling snowy hills of Rapid Run Park in West Price Hill, where a clearly defined trail offers a great spot to stroll.
If you don't want to brave the elements, drive through Sharon Woods in Sharonville, where trees laden with snow make a pretty picture.
In Kentucky, visit Devou Park in Covington or Kenton County's Doe Run Lake and Richardson Road parks. Devou, nestled in the city of Covington, is known for its panoramic view of Cincinnati's skyline. Doe Run's trail includes an uphill climb of 200 feet that leads to a spectacular walk around the lake.
This weekend, join the January Thaw Walk, 3-4 p.m. Saturday at Avon Woods Nature Preserve, 4235 Paddock Road, in North Avondale. A park naturalist will lead a leisurely walk. Free. 352-4080.
