Current sophomores (Class of 2006) will be the first class to take the new SAT for college admissions. Among the changes is the addition of a writing section with multiple-choice questions and a student-written essay.

ACT will add a 30-minute Writing Test as an optional component to the ACT Assessment beginning in February2005 for students applying to college for the fall semester of 2006 or later.
