Women: Musketeers hold on, beat Dayton 71-67

DAYTON - Freshman Miranda Green and junior Adeola Olanrewaju each had a steal and hit crucial free throws in the final two minutes to help Xavier hold off Dayton 71-67 Friday night at UD Arena.

UD led 64-63 with two minutes to play, but freshman Chelsea Chowning sank a 3-pointer to give XU a 66-64 lead. Olanrewaju then stole the ball and hit a free throw to put XU ahead by three. UD's Stefanie Miller, who had a career-high 35 points for UD (3-17, 1-8), hit a trey to tie the score at 67 with 51.6 seconds left.

The Muskies (13-7, 5-4) closed with free throws from Olanrewaju and Green, who had a career-high 14 points to share team-high honors with Suntana Granderson.
