Meet Pulitzer Prize nominee Annie Ruth noon-1 p.m. Thursday in the men's fragrance department at Lazarus-Macy's, downtown. She'll read excerpts from Reflection: A Collection of Straight Talk and Inspirational Narratives, and perform poetry and songs from her CD, Soul of a Sister.

Other Lazarus-Macy's events: Playtex representatives will be available for bra fittings Thursday at Tri-County and Friday at Kenwood Towne Centre. Appointments: 782-2259 Tri-County, and 745-5306 Kenwood.

Tri-County Lazarus-Macy's will host a "Runaway Slave" adventure 12:30 p.m. Saturday with attendees becoming part of the event. Reservations: 562-6770 ($10 box lunch).

The Go Red For Women Gund teddy bear will be sold through February for $10, with 50 percent of sales going to the American Heart Association.

Wear red Friday: Grab something red from your closet Friday for the American Heart Association's "Go Red for Women" campaign to educate women on their heart disease risk. Men and women are asked to wear red to show support in the fight against heart disease. One in three women's deaths is from cardiovascular disease. Information: www.americanheart.org.

Pantene donates: February purchases of Pantene conditioner (a Procter & Gamble product), up to $100,000 in sales, will be donated to the American Heart Association to help fund research and educational programs, as well as provide tips on women's health care at www.pantene.com. Call (888) 694-3278 to find out the beauty product and gift manufacturers who are donating a portion of their February sales to the American Heart Association.

Brighton 'brella: If you're doing Valentine's Day shopping at Brighton Collectibles, you can take away a bonus scarlet-heart umbrella free with a single $100 purchase through Feb. 15. There is a Brighton store at Kenwood Towne Centre. Information: 791-7780.

For brides: BridalRama walks down the aisle, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday at the Albert B. Sabin Cincinnati Convention Center, downtown, with fashion shows, exhibits and demos, $10. Information: www.bridalrama.net.
