WalkAmerica kickoff today
COVINGTON - More than 250 volunteers from 140 companies will gather at Jillian's today to kick off the 34th WalkAmerica season. On hand to help initiate the campaign will be Tina and Peter Frampton, co-honorary chairs for the event. Today's reception begins at 5:30 p.m., and the program lasts from 6:15-7:15 p.m. The Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky WalkAmerica is at 9 a.m. April 25 at Sawyer Point. Storm water a panel topic
FORT WRIGHT - Sanitation District 1 is forming a citizens' group to address local storm water issues beginning in April. The Citizen Storm Water Advisory Committee will meet up to four times a year, and provide input to the sanitation district on the regional storm water management program. Sanitation District 1 serves 33 communities in Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties.
'Choose Life' plate proposed
FRANKFORT - A bill sponsored by Sen. Jack Westwood, a Republican from Erlanger, to create a "Choose Life" license plate passed the Kentucky Senate Tuesday.
Give blood at library
COVINGTON - A community blood drive will be from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Kenton County Public Library at 502 Scott Blvd. The Hoxworth Blood Center "Bloodmobile" will be parked in front of the library on Scott Boulevard. Donors must be at least 17 years old.
TRAFFIC WATCH
The Wyoming Avenue bridge, located between Cooper Avenue and Lock Street in Lockland, will be closed at 9 a.m. Monday and remain closed through June. Follow the posted detours.
