The 41-year-old jockey injured Wednesday during a race at Turfway Park remained in critical condition Sunday at University Hospital.Michael Rowland, of Streetsboro, Ohio, was thrown onto the track during the seventh race when his horse, World Trade, broke its leg. Two other horses became entangled in the spill.
Rowland, a renowned jockey who has amassed 3,998 victories in his career, has been on life support since the accident and suffers from brain swelling.
Library celebrates black history
"African Americans in Aviation," an exhibit about the Tuskegee Airmen, America's first black military pilots, is on display at the Main Library of the Public Library of Cincinnati & Hamilton County. The Tuskegee Airmen flew during World War II.

Traffic
Police officers will direct traffic during work hours in Mount Washington while a water main is installed. Beginning today, drivers will find restrictions for 90 days from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays on Campus Lane (from Beechmont Avenue to Sutton Road) and Sutton Road (from Campus Lane to Salem Road).
