Loveland sponsors Showfest for choirs

LOVELAND - Showfest 2004 will feature show choirs from across Greater Cincinnati this weekend.

Sponsored by Loveland middle and high school's show choirs, Showfest 2004 is the first competition the district has hosted.

Middle school choirs will compete at Loveland High School's auditorium, 1 Tiger Trail Court, beginning 6 p.m. Friday. High schools will compete in the same spot, beginning at 5 p.m.

Tickets are $5 at the door. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Deer Park band teacher gets certified

DEER PARK - Music and band teacher Joe Vetter recently became the eighth member of the Deer Park Community Schools' staff to achieve National Board Certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.

He joins Karen Cox, Julie DeVilliers, Patricia Hadden, Chris Huster, Brenda Johnson, Jane Miller, and Mae Robinsion in earning the highest certification available to teachers.

Mason Middle parent review meeting today

MASON - A two-hour meeting for parents of Mason Middle School seventh-graders to review eighth-grade programs and schedules will begin at 7 p.m. today in the school auditorium, 770 S. Mason-Montgomery Road.

Lincoln Heights test session Tuesday

LINCOLN HEIGHTS - A forum on Helping Your Child Prepare for Proficiency and Achievements Tests will be presented at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the gymnasium at Lincoln Heights Elementary School, 1200 Lindy Ave.

Michael White, director of testing and research for the Princeton schools will present the program. For Information call 771-8560.

Mariemont offers college planning night

MARIEMONT - An Early College Planning Night for parents of ninth- and 10th-graders is set for 7 p.m. Thursday in Room C-20 at the high school, 3812 Pocahontas Ave. Discussion items include the ABC's of college planning and high school course preparation for college.

College planning night for parents of juniors is set for 7 p.m. March 9, also in Room C-20.
