Police investigate impersonator case
NORWOOD - Police here are investigating whether a man in an unmarked police-type vehicle who pulled over a woman late Saturday was impersonating a police officer.
A 26-year-old Middletown woman told police a white Ford Crown Victoria with flashing red and blue lights on the dash pulled her over near the intersection of Sherman Avenue and Walters Street just before midnight saying her car was being investigated for an auto theft.
The man, who wore a police uniform with a name badge that read "Cobble," took her registration back to his car, then about 5 minutes later returned it to her and told her she could go.
