Northern visitors bureau to be official
SHARONVILLE - The Northern Cincinnati Convention & Visitors Bureau will formally announce its formation at a celebration that begins at 9 a.m. today at the Sharonville Convention Center.
The communities of Blue Ash, Forest Park, Harrison, Sharonville, Springdale and Sycamore and Symmes townships are the charter members of the new organization. The Convention & Visitors Bureau is being funded as part of the 30-year agreement financing the expansion and renovation of the Albert B. Sabin Convention Center.
Allied Construction to get tax break
LOCKLAND - The city has awarded a tax break to Allied Construction Industries of Cincinnati, which will move into the last open site in Lockland Commerce Park.
City Council approved an agreement this week that reduces Allied Construction's property taxes by 60 percent the first six years and by 25 percent the next four years.
Allied Construction, now in Walnut Hills, is a non-profit company that provides training to construction workers. The cost of the land and the construction of its building will be $1.4 million.
The company employs 13, but will draw dozens of people to its facility each day for training sessions.
Clermont to celebrate new branch library
NEW RICHMOND - The Clermont County Public Library is hosting a celebration for the grand opening of the Harold F. Flannery-New Richmond Branch Library, 103 River Valley Blvd., from 2 to 5 p.m. March 14.
Local musicians will provide entertainment, and New Richmond schools students' artwork will be on display. Refreshments will be provided.
As part of the celebration, the library is offering a weeklong amnesty for fines on all overdue materials. Customers can return late items March 14-20 to any of the 10 Clermont County Public Library branches with no penalty.

Hyde Park council president resigns
HYDE PARK - The president of this community's neighborhood council has resigned, effective immediately.
Lea Beck and her family are moving to Anderson Township. She served as president of the Hyde Park Neighborhood Council since May 2003.
A new president will be selected at next month's Hyde Park Neighborhood Council meeting.
