WEST CHESTER TWP. - Lakota schools have scheduled several parent information nights and kindergarten registration times and locations in preparation for the 2004-05 school year. They are:
Lakota Early Childhood Center: Parent information nights are 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Kindergarten registration will be 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on March 1-12 and 6-8 p.m. March 3 and 9.
Adena Elementary: Parent information night is 7 p.m. March 11. Kindergarten registration will be 9 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays.
Hopewell Elementary: Parent information night is 7 p.m. March 18. Kindergarten registration continues through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. March 18.
Shawnee Elementary: Parent information night is 7 p.m. March 11. Kindergarten registration will be 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. daily and 6-8 p.m. March 11.
Parents should bring identification, the child's birth certificate, proof of residence and custody papers if applicable.
School musical tickets available
HAMILTON - Performances of the musical Good News are set for 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Hamilton High School, 1165 Eaton Ave. Tickets: $8. To order, call 868-7700, ext. 4169.
Mason registering preschool students
MASON - Registration for preschool classes in Mason schools for 2004-05 is being accepted through Feb. 27.
Classes are offered for children with disabilities as well as typically developing children ages 3-5. Classes meet mornings or afternoons Monday through Thursday. Tuition is $150 monthly and there is a one-time snack fee of $70.
Applications can be picked up at the preschool annex office, 196 Northcrest Drive, or the central office, 211 N. East St., or downloaded from www.masonohioschools.com/downloads.cfm.
Placement into the program will occur by lottery. Those selected will be notified in March. Information: 229-4578.
Fairfield levy's placement approved
FAIRFIELD - The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce has endorsed the 6.9 mill operating levy the school board put on the March 2 ballot.
If the levy is turned down, high school busing, after-school clubs and sports and field trips would be cut. The levy would increase taxes about $211 annually on a $100,000 house.
High schoolers host dance for seniors
MASON - The Mason High School Helpers of People Everywhere Club will host Cupid's Ball, a free dance for senior citizens, 6-8 p.m. Saturday in the high school commons, 6100 S. Mason-Montgomery Road. Information: 398-5025.
Warren Co. center offering A+ courses
LEBANON - Warren County Career Center Adult and Community Education is offering A+ Certification courses beginning March 1 at the Kings South Campus, 1797 King Ave.
Students can choose from a daytime class held Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or an evening class on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 10 p.m. Cost is $1,300 plus book.
