WEST END - A construction manager of a housing project being built here was grazed by a bullet fired through his truck window Wednesday.
Alan Stenger, 37, was pulling into work at the CityWest project about 8 a.m. when a gunman walked up to the driver's side of his truck and started firing. A motive was unclear.
Stenger manages the project, on Linn Street, for Reece-Campbell Inc., a construction company in Camp Washington.
Stenger, who was making a cell phone call, ducked down in the truck.
Police Capt. James Whalen said officers found at least one bullet in the truck. Both the driver's and passenger's side windows were shattered. Whalen said he did not know how many shots were fired.
CityWest is a mixed-income project of apartments and single-family homes that replaces two public housing complexes - Lincoln Court and Laurel Homes. The Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority got federal grants, plus funds from the city and Hamilton County.
