The March issue of GQ, out Tuesday, quotes Nick Lachey as saying he might want to run for mayor of Cincinnati someday.
But wife Jessica Simpson isn't thrilled with that idea, according to the article by GQ senior editor Jason Gay:
Lachey says the idea of his running for mayor makes Jessica cringe. "She doesn't want to live there," he tells GQ.
For the record, Lachey, who lives in Calabasas, Calif., would have to be a registered voter in Cincinnati as of June 2005 to run in that November's mayoral election. And he would need to collect at least 500 signatures on a petition.
The article also says that although Lachey doesn't categorize himself as a Democrat or a Republican, his political leanings sound progressive. He says he was impressed by a speech given by former Democratic presidential candidate Gen. Wesley Clark, and criticizes the war in Iraq.
