For the 20th anniversary of Riverbend, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra is updating the outdoor music center with $1.2 million in capital improvements.
The project will include 30 percent more restrooms, a new concession pavilion with Papa John's Pizza and an expanded area to sell merchandise. The new "comfort pavilion" will be located on the east side of the property, near the Gold Gate entrance. The concession pavilion will be constructed on the west side.
Riverbend Music Center, built in 1984, is owned and operated by the Cincinnati Symphony. It is the summer home for the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops orchestras. Riverbend also presents a contemporary series featuring stars such as Jimmy Buffett and Shania Twain.
In 1999, the orchestra added Riverbend Select V.I.P. Club with a restaurant and bar for members. (For membership information, call 232-6226).
