Staff/Wire reports
Delta Air Lines Monday said that in the next few months, it would recall 210 flight attendants, including some stationed at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
The company had said late last year that it would be recalling these workers, and the latest announcement is just confirming the numbers. Delta, which operates its second-largest hub locally, had laid off 2,300 flight attendants since the Sept. 11 terror attacks. In New York, 150 flight attendants will be recalled in April, and then 60 flight attendants out of Cincinnati and New York will be recalled in May.
P&G to acquire Spain's Grupo Vita
Procter & Gamble Co. said Monday it would acquire the commercial business of Grupo Vita, a Spanish pharmaceutical company. P&G, which operates its pharmaceutical unit out of the Health Care Research Center in Mason, said the division currently has no presence in Spain, the fifth biggest pharmaceutical market in Europe. The deal will close within six months, the companies said. Grupo Vita has concentrated on businesses also familiar to P&G Pharmaceuticals, including cardiovascular and anti-infective treatments, the companies said.
