Halle Berry says she firmly believes in ghosts and has sensed the presence of
one before, reports Ananova.com.
The Oscar-winning actress (Monster's Ball) , who was in Berlin recently to promote her new film Gothika, told the German magazine Bunte she believes the dead come back to haunt the living.
"I absolutely believe in ghosts," she said. "I'm convinced the souls of the dead can come back to take care of things that were unresolved when they died. Or to visit loved ones and comfort them."
Berry went on to say that she has encountered a ghost: "I've never seen one, but I've felt the presence of a ghost near me. At least I'd like to believe that. I find it very comforting to think that we don't stop existing when we die."
While she takes comfort in ghosts, Berry says she's terrified of snakes and drowning.
"Snakes give me the creeps," she said. "Sometimes I'm afraid of water. I'm terrified of drowning, even though I'm a great swimmer. I couldn't imagine a worse death. And I'm afraid of dying alone, that no one I love will be with me when my life ends. But the idea of drowning scares me more than anything else."
