Bug Bill Geist effort noticed
Cincinnati's spring cicada invasion already has touched a national nerve. The Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce Wednesday was contacted by Chris Martin, a producer for 60 Minutes II, and Amy Rosner, a producer for CBS Sunday Morning. Both were responding to Bug Bill Geist Day, a Chamber-sponsored letter-writing campaign to bring the humor correspondent here at the height of the cicada invasion. Martin is considering a segment on 60 Minutes II for Wednesdayand asks that Cincinnatians continue sending letters so they can bury Geist's desk. (The address is www.cincinnatiusa.org/yp/cicada.asp). Rosner's e-mail was more exploratory, asking exactly what the chamber wanted Geist to do if he came to Cincinnati.
Scholarship fund honors firefighter

Armstrong's sister, Twinkle Dawson, and fellow '95 graduate and childhood friend, Ameer Rasheed of Hamilton, came to Hughes Center to announce the creation of the $500 scholarship. For more information or to serve on the scholarship committee, send an e-mail to ozziearmstrongfund@yahoo.com.
