Promotions and new on the job

• Joshua D. Deeter has joined Professional Planning Associates Inc. as an investment adviser and client services manager. Deeter graduated from Elon University in 2002.

• Kevin Chorniak has been named vice president at Fifth Third Bank. Named assistant vice presidents are: Greg Moser, Keith R. Braun, Diane Jackson, Kimberley Sippy, Marlon Mays and Marc Wise. Named assistant cashiers are: Brad Fahrenkamp, Darrin Morgan, Mark Cahill, Dino Re, Mike Mendenhall and Todd Castellini. Joe Treinen has been named sales and marketing manager and Eric Stuhldreher to affiliate manager.

• Craig Cheevers has joined Hixson as electrical engineer; Keri Hendrickson as assistant in administrative department; Carol Mackey, payroll benefits administrator; Brent Niese, project architect; and Barbara Powley, accounts payable.

• Paula Coletta has joined MRSI (Marketing Research Services Inc.) as senior research analyst.

• Cedric Kauffmann, ATP tennis professional, has been named head teaching professional at Five Seasons Country Club in Symmes Township. Kauffmann won the 2003 Cincinnati Met tennis tournament. He is responsible for management and instruction of the overall junior and adult tennis program. He has retired from the ATP tour, where he had competed since 1998.

• Amy Schwartz has joined LPK (Libby Perszyk Kathman) as designer; Laura Thomas moves to brand account leader and Katrina Breetz, Tracy Huggins, Amanda Hall and Zack Norman are interns in creative services. Jennifer Knoke has joined LPK as account coordinator and Matthew Copley as industrial design intern.

• The following have been named new associates at Freking & Betz: Ann K. Wittenauer, Elizabeth S. Loring and Tod J. Thompson. Robert White and Lee de los Reyes have joined the law firm as paralegals.

• Adam Tingle has been named systems manager at Messer Construction Co.; Jody Jubach professional development administrator; Valerie Siebel systems analyst; Jerry Snider, superintendent; Erin Thompson and Bryan Homan, senior project managers; and Steve Stragand, Tom Hart and Allan Dinsmore, project executives.

• Dr. Jon Divine has joined Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center as medical director of the sports medicine biodynamics center.
