River Road bypass opens in Fairfield
FAIRFIELD - A temporary one-lane bypass has opened around a portion of River Road weakened by a landslide during Great Miami River flooding Jan. 4.
Two-lane traffic won't resume near Cincinnati's Charles M. Bolton Water Treatment Plant for four to six months, said David Hoffman, Fairfield construction services manager.
The city has applied for a $131,300 grant from the Ohio Public Works Commission for the River Road bank stabilization.
That amount will pay for half of the estimated construction and design cost, city officials have said.
