Deerfield sponsors annual cleanup days

News briefs

Staff/Wire reports

DEERFIELD TWP. - The township's annual Clean Up Days will run from April 12 through May 2, giving residents a chance to do some spring cleaning.

From April 12 through April 23, the road department will pick up brush left at the curb.

Tree and brush stumps, construction wood, wood fencing and plywood should not be left on the curb, but instead be brought to the road department's Dumpster, 3378 Townsley Drive.

Residents can dispose of non-hazardous items from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 1 and May 2, at the service garage trash bins, 3378 Townsley Dr.

For more information, contact the township at 683-5805.

River Road bypass opens in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD - A temporary one-lane bypass has opened around a portion of River Road weakened by a landslide during Great Miami River flooding Jan. 4.

Two-lane traffic won't resume near Cincinnati's Charles M. Bolton Water Treatment Plant for four to six months, said David Hoffman, Fairfield construction services manager.

The city has applied for a $131,300 grant from the Ohio Public Works Commission for the River Road bank stabilization.

That amount will pay for half of the estimated construction and design cost, city officials have said.

Blue Ash to award Hartman road contract

BLUE ASH - Council is expected on Thursday to award a $4.8 million contract to Barrett Paving to widen a one-mile stretch of Reed Hartman Highway north from Osborne Boulevard.

It is the second phase of work to widen and improve the heavily traveled road.

Construction is expected to start in April and be finished by year's end.

Loveland session to set priorities continues

LOVELAND - Council will continue a public session to establish this year's goals and projects at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the safety center on South Lebanon Road.

Staff and council met last month but were unable to complete the process.

The session is being facilitated by Amy Paul of Management Partners Inc.

The city is paying Management Partners $3,500 for the workshop.

Citizens can observe the meeting, but are not permitted to participate.
