Jessica Simpson knows
a little something about skiing

It might surprise you, but there are some things pop star Jessica Simpson knows more about than her husband, Cincinnati-bred singer Nick Lachey.

Take skiing, for example. On Wednesday night's episode of Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, the couple flew (via private jet, no less) to Mammoth Lakes, Calif., with Nick's brother Drew and Drew's wife, Leah, for a bit of skiing and snowboarding.

The foursome took a snowboarding lesson on the first day. Nick and Drew, who had been boarding before, fared OK, while Jessica and Leah quickly gave up after complaining about the cold.

"Oh my gaw!" a pious Jessica, resolving not to take the Lord's name in vain, exclaimed over and over, and over, to the chagrin of her companions.

Skiing was on the next day's agenda, and Jessica instructed Nick to keep his skis together as she demonstrated. But Nick's skis soon turned inward, and he fell as he tried to turn. To add insult to injury, one of his poles flew up and hit him in the face. That was all it took for him to throw in the towel.

"I have no (bleep) desire whatsoever to do this," he said, stalking off.

Later, Jessica bragged that she didn't fall once. But the whole incident was forgotten after she cooked up a tasty dinner of chicken breasts, which she had clumsily cut into smaller pieces with scissors.

On next week's season finale, Jessica wises up, hires a chef to cook Nick a Valentine's Day dinner and learns lots of new things, like what oregano is. Watch all the excitement at 10 p.m. Wednesday on MTV.
