'Whale Rider' star joins 'Star Wars'

New Zealand schoolgirl Keisha Castle-Hughes, the youngest-ever best actress Oscar nominee, will star in the next episode of the Star Wars movies, reports Agence France-Presse.

The 13-year-old, who made her screen debut last year in Whale Rider, will portray the Queen of Naboo in filmmaker George Lucas' Star Wars: Episode III.

The sixth chapter in the 27-year-old sci-fi classic is due for release in May 2005.
