Mideast: Reserve leads way for Duke in first round

DURHAM, N.C. - Reserve Jessica Foley scored 18 points to lead top-seeded Duke to a 103-51 victory over Northwestern State Sunday in the first round of the Mideast Regional.
Iciss Tillis added 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Blue Devils (28-3), who scored the first 13 points and were never challenged. Duke advanced to play ninth-seeded Marquette.
Duke, a No. 1 seed for the fourth straight season, is looking to return to the Final Four for the third straight year.
Diamond Cosby scored 17 points for the Lady Demons (24-7).
Marquette 67, Old Dominion 64
DURHAM, N.C. - Christina Quaye scored 24 points and hit a go-ahead layup with 5.8 seconds left for Marquette.
Quaye, a freshman, had 11 in the final six minutes for the Golden Eagles (22-9). Shareese Grant scored 19 points for the Lady Monarchs (25-7).
Kansas St. 71, Valparaiso 63
MINNEAPOLIS - Nicole Ohlde scored 25 points to lead second-seeded Kansas State past Valparaiso.
Kendra Wecker added 15 points and Laurie Koehn 14 for the Wildcats, who play seventh-seeded Minnesota in the second round. Jamie Gutowski had 20 points for the Crusaders (20-12).
Minnesota 92, UCLA 81
MINNEAPOLIS - Lindsay Whalen lead Minnesota with 31 points in her first game in more than five weeks.
Janel McCarville added 19 points and 17 rebounds for the Gophers (22-8). Nikki Blue scored 20 of her 33 points after halftime for the Bruins (17-13).
