Shot at by officer, man behind bars

The Cincinnati Enquirer

WALNUT HILLS - A Westwood man who was shot at Monday by a Cincinnati police officer remained behind bars Tuesday in lieu of posting $120,000 bond.

Jamarkus Steele, 18, was charged with aggravated robbery and illegally carrying a gun. He was arrested Monday morning near Kemper Lane after Officer Freddie Vincent, who was chasing him after an altercation in the nearby Kroger lot, fired a shot at him.

Neither Steele nor the officer was hurt.

Steele was put on probation late last year for possession of cocaine.

Vincent has been on the force since 1995.
