St. Gabriel students to perform benefit play

GLENDALE - Seventh-grade students at St. Gabriel Consolidated School will stage Hooray for Hollywood 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Springdale Elementary School, 350 W. Kemper Road.

The show highlights the antics of a phony acting coach/theatrical agent and his students. Admission is $1 or a canned good.

Monetary proceeds will go to the Flo Edelmann scholarship fund, benefiting a graduating eighth-grader to offset high school tuition. Edelmann is a former principal at the school.

Mount Notre Dame plans walkathon

READING - Students and faculty at Mount Notre Dame High School will take to the streets here Friday for the eighth annual walkathon.

The "Step by Step" three-mile spirit walk, supported through pledges that the students solicit, will benefit the school's scholarship and financial aid programs.

Mercy Montessori parents can visit

EAST WALNUT HILLS - Children in the fourth through sixth levels at Mercy Montessori School will get to show off their work 5-7 p.m. Thursday during Parent-Child night.

The students recently moved from the Little Red Schoolhouse to new space in the main building. This will be many parents' first glimpse of the new classrooms. Students will conduct their latest science experiments or share their cultural studies journals.

St. Ursula Academy musical coming soon

EAST WALNUT HILLS - St. Ursula Academy's Ensemble Theatre's spring musical, Children of Eden, will be presented Thursday through Sunday at the Jarsen-Kaplan Theatre in the Aronoff Center for the 650 Walnut St., downtown. Tickets, $11.50, can be reserved through TicketMaster, 421-SHOW. Information: 961-3410, ext. 190.

Grace Christian to host open house

WESTWOOD - Grace Christian Academy will host an open house 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the school, 3628 Boudinot Ave. Grace is taking enrollments for 2004-05 for students in grades preschool-8.

AMBERLEY VILLAGE - The Academy of Greater Cincinnati will host an open house 7-9 p.m. today at the school, 8501 Ridge Road.

The school is enrolling students in grades K-9 for 2004-05. Information: 794-1404 or academygc.org.

St. Vivian arts group conducts craft show

SPRINGFIELD TWP. - St. Vivian's Fine Arts Need Support group is hosting its annual Spring Craft Show 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday in the school's activity center, 7600 Winton Road. The event features more than 40 crafters, food and raffle. Admission is free.

LaSalle helps sponsor disabilities fair

GREEN TWP. - The Ohio Valley Branch of the International Dyslexia Association Learning Disability Parent Support Group is teaming with LaSalle High School to present a learning disabilities fair 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the school, 3091 North Bend Road.

More than 30 organizations will available to talk about their services.

Math and science school enrolling now

MOUNT HEALTHY - The Hamilton County Mathematics and Science Academy is enrolling students in grades K-3 for 2004-05 at the school, 7601 Harrison Ave. Information: 728-8620.

Officer to speak at St. Bernadette

AMELIA - St. Bernadette School students will get a visit Wednesday from newly appointed School Resource Officer Ed Dye. He will conduct a canine assembly for the students. Dye is assigned to several schools in Pierce Township as Resource through the Youth First! Collaborative.
