WESTWOOD - Retired Cincinnati police officer Frank X. O'Toole died March 23of complications of diabetes at his son's home in Hamilton. The Westwood resident was 75.
A member of the Cincinnati Police Department for 25 years, Mr. O'Toole was a patrolman in Districts 1 and 4. But most of the time he patrolled Westwood out of District 3, which was on Warsaw Avenue.
He was promoted to specialist in 1966.
"He took it very seriously - being a policeman - and he loved it," said his daughter Nancy O'Toole of Westwood.
Mr. O'Toole was a member of the Western Hills High School class of 1947. He was drafted into the Army in 1950 and served in Korea until 1952.
He entered the Cincinnati Police Academy after his return.
Mr. O'Toole was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
His identical twin - Bill - was also a Cincinnati police officer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera E. Burress O'Toole, in 2000 and a daughter, Mollie O'Toole-Herz, in 1990.
In addition to his daughter Nancy, survivors include another daughter, Tara Ruffing of Delhi Township; a son, Frank X. O'Toole of Hamilton; another brother, Daniel O'Toole of White Oak; and seven grandchildren.
Services have been held.
Interment was at St. Joseph New Cemetery in Price Hill.
