Seeking WWII veterans
This Memorial Day weekend, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., America will say thanks in a permanent way to the men and women who served the country six decades ago in World War II. World War II veterans by the tens of thousands are expected to make the pilgrimage to the nation’s capital for the May 29 dedication of a National World War II Memorial to meet old comrades and reflect on the days many years ago when they wore the uniform of their country and saved the world from oppression.
