Newport on the Levee will add another anchor tenant to its mix of restaurants and entertainment venues with AOI Japanese Cuisine set to open this fall.
The restaurant will be owned and operated by local property owners and restaurateurs Karl-Heinz Braese and his wife, Grace, in partnership with Shigeyoshi "Midori" Midorikawa and his wife, Hiromi. Midorikawa is also the executive chef at Jo An Japanese restaurant in Erlanger.
The restaurant will serve traditional Japanese fare in a 4,700-square-foot space on the center's Valet Circle.
Newport Aquarium at Newport on the Levee also will add a new eatery in coming months.
Noble Roman's Pizza will replace the aquarium's in-house snack bar, Lighthouse Cafe, said Tim Mullican, Newport Aquarium's executive director.
