Broker enters guilty plea
CLEVELAND - A former investment broker imprisoned for cheating clients out of $125 million pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges that he tried to get state investment business with a bribe. Under the plea agreement, Frank Gruttadauria will be sentenced Monday to 41/2 years in prison on charges of bribery, racketeering, theft, money laundering, forgery and election-law violations. The term will run at the same time as his federal sentence. Gruttadauria, 46, was accused of funneling illegal campaign contributions - $7,000 of it allegedly to state Treasurer Joe Deters - through investor clients' funds and through employees whose contributions were reimbursed.
