LEBANON - Warren County commissioners on April 15 will discuss a development that could bring 970 homes and 109 multifamily units to Turtlecreek Township.
The development is proposed for 300 acres that surround the Shaker Run Golf Course.
The meeting is 5:15 p.m. in the county administration building, 406 Justice Drive. The Regional Planning Commission has recommended a conditioned approval.
Commissioners have discussed implementing a moratorium to freeze the county's residential development.
Yavneh student 3rd in state geography bee
MANSFIELD - A Yavneh Day School student placed third in the 2004 Geography Bee State Qualifiers competition, sponsored by National Geographic.
Seth Rau was one of 13 Southwest Ohio students who competed Friday in the state competition on the Mansfield Campus of Ohio State University.
None of the 15 Northern Kentucky students who competed Friday at Western Kentucky University will move on to next month's national competition.
ODOT conducting litter blitz today
Watch for Ohio Department of Transportation workers in bright green safety vests 8 a.m.-4 p.m. today along the Ohio side of Interstate 275, from the Ohio River to the intersection with Interstate 75.
ODOT is conducting a litter blitz with approximately 75 workers who will collect an estimated 1,400 bags of trash and debris.
The litter problem is growing annually, the agency reports.
Hamilton Co. sets up recycling drop-off sites
CORRYVILLE - Hamilton County has set up drop-off sites for recycling 9 a.m.-12 p.m. today at four places in Hamilton County.
Locations are: Princeton High student lot, 11080 Chester Road, Sharonville; Western Hills Plaza behind Kroger, 6150 Glenway Avenue; Surrey Square Mall behind Hardee's, , Norwood; and the old Kroger parking lot, 1606 W. North Bend Road, College Hill. Acceptable items are cardboard, beverage cases, office paper and newspapers.
