Clean Water Act sessions slated
The Boone, Campbell and Kenton county conservation districts will hold two free workshops on the basics of the Clean Water Act April 27.The workshops will be held at the Boone County Cooperative Extension Center, 6028 Camp Ernst Road, Burlington.
1:30-4:30 p.m., there will be a session geared toward members of the business community and officials involved with water quality issues like sanitation, water supply, planning and zoning, and enforcement of water quality laws. The session is open to everyone.
7-8:30 p.m., a session geared for the public and students will be held. It will also be open to everyone.

Turfway exerciser upgraded to fair
An exercise rider has been upgraded to fair condition after being thrown from a horse last month. Clyde Bramble hit the rail after a strap apparently broke on the harness while he exercised a horse March 29 at Turfway Park. Earlier this year, jockey Michael Rowland died from injuries he received in a fall during a race at Turfway.
