Oxford police to hold meeting about party

OXFORD - The Oxford Police Department is hosting an information session for Miami University students, concerning the annual North End party, at 4 p.m. Monday in the coaches' auditorium (Room 246) of Millett Hall.

Topics include civil and criminal liabilities, Oxford's nuisance party ordinance and community standards.

Plans for training center moving forward

DEERFIELD TWP. - The township fire department is moving ahead with plans for an outdoor training center.

Township trustees have approved more than $13,400 worth of work and equipment for the center, which is going to be built behind the fire headquarters and fire station on Snider Road.

The department already has on-site classroom training but has been going to other communities for physical training. The new center will give firefighters from Deerfield, and possibly from other departments, more hands-on experience.

Volunteers needed for cleanup project

MONTGOMERY - Volunteers are needed to help clean up and beautify the city for the Great American Cleanup on April 24.

Individuals, families, businesses and groups are encouraged to get involved in the project.

The event, sponsored by the Montgomery Beautification and Tree Commission, is from 9 a.m. to noon and starts at the City Hall parking lot, 10101 Montgomery Road.

T-shirts, gloves and litter bags will be handed out.
