MIAMI - Dwyane Wade scored 20 points and Miami used a 29-8 run in the second half to pull away from the Cleveland Cavaliers in a 106-91 win that eliminated LeBron James and the Cavs from the playoffs.

A crowd of 20,213, a record for the AmericanAirlines Arena, saw the surging Heat win their 11th in a row at home. The Heat, who began the season 0-7, raised their record above .500 (40-39) for the first time since Oct. 31, 2001.

James kept his team in the game, but the Heat outscored Cleveland 27-12 in the fourth quarter to kill the Cavs' faint hopes of making the playoffs.

James led Cleveland with 24 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.

Miami had six players in double figures. Brian Grant had 19 points, Lamar Odom added 18 and Eddie Jones 15.

Wizards 83, 76ers 80

PHILADELPHIA - Gilbert Arenas sank a 3-pointer as time expired and scored Washington's final 12 points.

The loss meant Philadelphia would be eliminated if Boston defeated New Orleans later Friday night. If not, the Sixers would have to win their final three games and the Celtics have to lose all of theirs.

Arenas carried the Wizards as they played spoiler for the second time this week. They beat Boston earlier this week to delay the Celtics wrapping up the final spot in the Eastern Conference.

Larry Hughes added 19 points and Jared Jeffries grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds for Washington. Kenny Thomas led the Sixers with 24 points.

Pistons 74, Raptors 66

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Richard Hamilton scored 10 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Detroit Pistons to their sixth straight win.

The Pistons were missing point guard Chauncey Billups (ankle), but won for the 14th time in 16 games, including 10 straight at home. They also extended their NBA record by holding an opponent under 70 points for the 11th time this season.

Tayshaun Prince added 14 points, while Ben Wallace had 16 rebounds and Rasheed Wallace added 12 boards.

Vince Carter and Chris Bosh led the Raptors with 18 points each, but Carter shot 6-of-21 from the field.

Pacers 90, Nets 80

INDIANAPOLIS - Ron Artest's 24 points and four steals helped the Pacers clinch homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs.

The victory assured the Pacers (59-21) of having the best record in the league and also set their NBA franchise record for wins in a season. The Pacers can eclipse their all-time record, set in the ABA, with a win Monday at Philadelphia.

The Nets were playing without Jason Kidd and Kenyon Martin, who are both nursing left knee injuries. With the Atlantic Division and No. 2 seed in the East already sewn up, Nets coach Lawrence Frank had the luxury of sitting his two All- Stars for the second game of a back-to-back set.

Even without their two best players, the Nets managed to make a game of it for nearly 40 minutes.

Hawks 116, Bulls 101

CHICAGO - Stephen Jackson scored 36 points and Bob Sura had his first career triple-double.

The Bulls played lackluster defense all night in losing for the 15th time in 19 games. Atlanta went through what amounted to a jump-shooting drill for four quarters.

Jason Terry added 23 points and had 11 assists for the Hawks. Chris Crawford scored 20 and Sura had 12 points to go with 12 assists and 11 rebounds. The Hawks shot 49 percent.

Kirk Hinrich scored a career-high 29 points to lead the Bulls.

Spurs 84, Trail Blazers 74

SAN ANTONIO - Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili each scored 21 points to lead the San Antonio Spurs to their eighth straight win.

Ginobili had 18 of his points in the first half when the Spurs shot 58 percent to build a 20-point advantage that the Trail Blazers didn't seriously challenge until the fourth quarter.

Portland dropped into a three-way tie with Utah and Denver for the eighth and final playoff berth in the West.

Nesterovic added 16 points on 8-for-10 shooting, and Bruce Bowen had 12. Duncan led all rebounders with 14 and Nesterovic had 11.

Hornets 89, Celtics 80

NEW ORLEANS - Jamaal Magloire's 23 points and 17 rebounds and George Lynch's defense led New Orleans, giving the Hornets a four-game season sweep of Boston.

The Hornets got 15 points from Lynch, who started because he defended Paul Pierce well in New Orleans' other victories over Boston. Lynch had three second-half 3-pointers and helped hold Pierce to 5-of-16 shooting.

Lynch's third 3 capped a 7-0 run that gave New Orleans an 80-68 lead with just over three minutes remaining.

New Orleans remained a game behind Miami for the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Rockets 106, Nuggets 103

HOUSTON - The Houston Rockets clinched a playoff berth for the first time in five years behind a season-high 33 points from Steve Francis.

Marcus Camby scored 23 points and Carmelo Anthony had 20 as the Nuggets lost for the sixth straight time in Houston.

Francis hit four free throws and Cuttino Mobley made a 3-pointer in a span of 1:35 to give Houston its biggest lead, 99-92 with 2:29 to play.

Nene hit a follow shot with 18 seconds left to pull the Nuggets to 104-103, and Jim Jackson's two free throws with 17 seconds to go made it 106-103. Rodney White missed a desperation 3-point shot with five seconds to play, and Andre Miller missed a 25-footer at the buzzer.

Timberwolves 92, Warriors 74

OAKLAND, Calif. - Kevin Garnett had 29 points and 15 rebounds to keep the Minnesota Timberwolves atop the Western Conference with their seventh straight victory.

Sam Cassell added 19 points and seven assists for the Timberwolves, who pulled away in the fourth quarter with a 14-0 run. Minnesota snapped the Warriors' seven-game home winning streak.

A day after beating the Kings in Sacramento to take over the conference lead, Minnesota thrived in another tough road arena thanks to Garnett, who scored eight points on jumpers in the decisive run.

If the Timberwolves (56-24) finish up the best regular season in franchise history with victories over Utah on Monday and Memphis on Wednesday, they'll have home-court advantage throughout the conference playoffs.

Lakers 103, Grizzlies 95

LOS ANGELES - Kobe Bryant scored 33 points and Shaquille O'Neal had 28 points and 12 rebounds.

The Lakers were booed when they trailed by 19 points in the second quarter, but Bryant ignited a comeback and Los Angeles went on to end a two-game losing streak.

The Lakers finally caught the Grizzlies at 72 on Derek Fisher's 20-foot jumper with 33 seconds left in the third quarter. Bryant's two free throws gave them a 74-72 lead heading into the final quarter, and they were in front the rest of the way.

Bryant had five rebounds and seven assists, and Karl Malone had 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Suns 101, Kings 96

PHOENIX - Joe Johnson's three consecutive 3-pointers midway through the fourth quarter lifted Phoenix, dropping the Kings into a first-place tie in the Pacific Division.

The loss, coupled with the Lakers' 103-95 win over Memphis, left Los Angeles and Sacramento with identical 54-25 records. The two teams meet Sunday at Sacramento.

Johnson, who finished with 24 points, put Phoenix ahead for good, 83-81, with his first from long range with 7:43 remaining. His third 3, with 6:00 left, moved Phoenix in front 89-83, and the Suns eventually increased the lead to 97-89 on a 3-pointer by Leandro Barbosa with 2:19 to go.
