Western & Southern Financial Group has started construction on the $62.5 million Queen City Square office tower and garage at the northwest corner of Third Street and Broadway.
The project is the city's first downtown office tower being built in more than a decade and will include a 180,000-square-foot office tower built atop a 680-space garage.
It is being built by Eagle Realty, an extension of the Western Southern Financial Group.
City Council has given preliminary approval of a plan to spend $9.9 million in future property tax revenues for the garage and $533,000 for sidewalks and other streetscape improvements.
