The Boston Red Sox came within an eye blink of landing Alex Rodriguez, the super shortstop. Then the Yankees got him, even though they had to move him to third base.
The Yanks did lose some pitchers (Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte, David Wells) and the Red Sox added some (Curt Schilling, Keith Foulke). We'll see what happens.
