Ft. Thomas firm wins honors

The partners in Kohrs Lonnemann Heil Engineers in Fort Thomas have been named Kentucky Small Business Persons of the Year, the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce said Tuesday. The award is from the U.S. Small Business Administration. Joseph Kohrs, Robert Lonnemann and Robert Heil will now compete against other state winners in the national competition. KLH was one of five recipients of the Chamber's Small Business "Success" Award in 2003. Established in 1955, KLH specializes in mechanical and electrical engineering. It has completed more than 4,900 projects nationwide.

GE Aircraft wins $100M+ order

GE Aircraft Engines said Tuesday it won a more than $100 million order to supply engines for five Airbus A330 tankers for the Royal Australian Air Force. GEAE will provide its CF6-80E1 engines starting in 2006 for the Airbus tankers entering service in 2007. This is the first order for the CF6 to power the Airbus A330 military tanker, GE said.

Think3 releases new software

Think3, the growing Cincinnati-based provider of engineering design software and services, has released a new suite of industrial and machine design software. Think3's new 9.0 product suite - thinkdesign, thinkteam and thinkID - is aimed at design engineers and mid-sized manufacturers. The company said the new suite of products includes innovations such as an automatically generated bill of materials and improved information-sharing and publishing.
