I wonder if people really understand the importance of staying the course in Iraq. Regardless of whether the invasion was right or wrong, do people really think that we can just bring home our troops and have the Middle East be a safe and happy place? If we bring our troops home before the Iraqis can govern and provide security for themselves, Iraq will become a hotbed of terrorist activity and maybe worse. There may have been better avenues for dealing with Saddam Hussein, but we have no choice now except to stay and make sure that it all works.

Iraq does not have to attack our homeland. They have thousands of our young people right there on their doorstep. Our regular troops, our reservists and even our National Guard members are being picked off every day. In addition to that, our homeland citizens are suffering more every day due to the billions of dollars being sent to Iraq. They now have our young people and our money. What more do they need? They are already winning this war. President Bush opened a can of worms that he cannot contain. When will he admit that he's on the wrong course? Violence never produces peace.

The minimum number of civilian deaths reported in the Iraq war has reached 8,893. The maximum number reported to date is 10,743. That's more than triple the number of Americans killed on 9-11. Don't beleive it? Do some research. I find it strange the "liberal media" are not reporting at all the total cost in lives to innocent Iraqis. How many more people on both sides have to die before President Bush develops a plan to end this conflict?
