Must-see

Friends, 8 and 8:30 p.m., Channels 5, 22.

With the finale coming May 6, the show is finally ready for new episodes.

It has one tonight (followed by a rerun) and one next Thursday. The other two will make up the hourlong finale, preceded by an hour of clips and comments.

The previous new "Friends" ended with a jolt: Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) lost her job, then landed one in Paris.

Tonight, Ross (David Schwimmer)- still in love with her, even if he won't admit it - scrambles to get her job back.

Meanwhile, Joey (Matt LeBlanc) is already so depressed that Phoebe (Lisa Kurdrow) tries to hide the news of a recent death. And Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Monica (Courtney Cox Arquette) are grumpy about something they learned about their new neighborhood.

That's followed by a rerun of an episode that's both funny and sweet. Desperate to adopt a child-to-be, Monica and Chandler go along with the mother's mistaken belief that they are a doctor and a minister.

Worth watching

Survivor: All-Stars, 8 p.m., Channels 12, 7. It's time for a 12th person to be ousted.

Tru Calling, 8 p.m., Channels 19, 45. There's a complication this time when Tru sees a murder victim at the morgue. She previously saw the same guy harassing a woman.

Romancing the Stone (1984), 8 p.m., FX. Here's a big, fun romp, nimbly handled by Robert Zemeckis, who directed Back to the Future and Forrest Gump. A romance novelist (Kathleen Turner) and an adventurer (Michael Douglas) link in Colombia.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, 9 p.m., Channels 12, 7. One case seems to indicate a vampire at work; another involves the theft of a valuable samurai sword.

Frontline: Son of Al Qaeda, 9 p.m., Channel 16. Abdurahman Khadr was a Canadian kid whose family moved to Afghanistan, sharing a house with his father's friend Osama bin Laden. He later described bin Laden as "a normal human being who has issues with his wife, and he has issues with his kids." Khadr was raised to be a terrorist, but became a U.S. informant. Here's a profile.

ER, 10 p.m., Channels 5, 22. The previous episode was filled with jolts. Now Weaver fights to get custody of the baby after the death of her lover. Sam tries to adjust to the arrival of her son's father, while Kovac, her real love, worries.
