Must-see
Friends, 8 and 8:30 p.m., Channels 5, 22.
With the finale coming May 6, the show is finally ready for new episodes.
It has one tonight (followed by a rerun) and one next Thursday. The other two will make up the hourlong finale, preceded by an hour of clips and comments.
The previous new "Friends" ended with a jolt: Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) lost her job, then landed one in Paris.
Tonight, Ross (David Schwimmer)- still in love with her, even if he won't admit it - scrambles to get her job back.
Meanwhile, Joey (Matt LeBlanc) is already so depressed that Phoebe (Lisa Kurdrow) tries to hide the news of a recent death. And Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Monica (Courtney Cox Arquette) are grumpy about something they learned about their new neighborhood.
That's followed by a rerun of an episode that's both funny and sweet. Desperate to adopt a child-to-be, Monica and Chandler go along with the mother's mistaken belief that they are a doctor and a minister.
