FORT MITCHELL - A Kenton County grand jury indicted a Covington man Friday for allegedly kidnapping the mother of his young daughter and torturing the woman.
Thomas Earle Anderson Jr. of Alden Court is charged with kidnapping and violating a domestic violence order.
He was being held at the Kenton County jail Friday on $30,000 bond. The kidnapping charge is a felony. If convicted, he could be sentenced to 10 to 20 years in jail.
Thomas violated a court order to stay away from the woman, who is the mother of his 19-month-old daughter, according to an affidavit.
The court document says he abducted the woman at gunpoint on Feb. 2 from a parking lot outside of AEC Southern Ohio College off Buttermilk Pike in Fort Mitchell. He took her to an apartment in Covington where she was tied up, gagged and tortured. Covington police say he used a knife to slash the woman on her arm and cut off some of her hair. At one point, he threatened to "kill her parents and poke out her eyes," according to court documents.
Police said Thomas took the woman at gunpoint to a friend's house in Franklin, Ohio, and to a fast-food restaurant and a pool hall. During the ordeal, according to court records, he tried to negotiate with her for visitation with his young daughter.
The woman was released the following day. She called police and was treated at a hospital for multiple contusions to her head and cuts.
